Madan Somasundaram
Co-Chair
Program: Major Finance, Concentration Accounting Year: U3

Madan is a third year Bachelor of Commerce student at McGill, pursuing a Major in Finance and Concentration in Accounting. In addition to McGill, Madan has studied at The Wharton School (University of Pennsylvania) during his second year of university education. Madan is passionate about the financial services industry and intends on pursuing a full-time career in Investment Banking upon graduation in 2011. He has gained exposure to the industry and he is currently a Summer Analyst in the Investment Banking division of BMO Capital Markets in Toronto. He has previously worked as a Consultant in the Corporate Finance division of Pannell Kerr Forster East Africa in Nairobi, Kenya and in UNICEF.
At McGill, Madan has gained vast leadership experience through his involvement in various activities within the Faculty of Management. Most notably, he is the current President of the McGill Investment Club and was previously the Vice President Finance of the club. He also sits on the undergraduate Careers Advisory Services Committee at the Faculty, has previously served as a Director and Chair at the McGill Model United Nations and is a tutor for Finance 1 at McGill. Prior to attending McGill, Madan was a professional cricket player for Kenya, having captained and represented the national under 15, under 17 and under 19 cricket teams. He was also one of six Executive Members to run the East Africa Model United Nations, the largest student run conference in Africa.

Thomas Grace
Co-Chair
Program: Finance Major, Minor English Literature Year: U3

Thomas is a fourth year Bachelor of Commerce in Finance at McGill University. After graduating from McGill, he plans on pursuing a career in investment banking. Thomas most recently spent this past summer working as an Analyst in Debt Markets at the Bank of Canada in Ottawa. Previously, Thomas worked at Cognos Inc., and IBM Canada.
Thomas is very excited to be working alongside his Co-Chair Madan in organizing the Third Annual Toronto Finance Convention. Thomas hopes that the interactions students will have with some of the top minds on Bay Street will act to complement their formal education in Finance thus far. Furthermore, Thomas hopes that participants will strive to make the most out of the event by making some great connections that will help them come recruiting season. Thomas is confident that the experience he gained from his involvement in organizing last year’s convention will be valuable as the organising committee seeks to make this year’s event a resounding success.

Karl Hantho

Program: Major Finance, Minor Environmental Science and Math Year: U3

Karl is a third year Management student Majoring in Finance, and pursuing Minors in Math and Environmental Science. Karl is passionate about the finance industry and seeks to work in Investment Banking in the future. He is currently a Summer Analyst in Public Finance division of Moody’s Corporation in New York. He has previously had internships at Right To Play in New York.
Karl is the current Vice President Sponsorship of the McGill Investment Club, handling the sponsorship activities for all events organized by the club. He is a member of the McGill Varsity Soccer team (‘Redmen’) for the third successive year and part of the McGill Freestyle Ski Team. He is also extensively involved with the Right To Play foundation and is the current Vice President Finance of the McGill Chapter.

Matthew Tai
Finance Coordinator
Program: Honours in Investment Management Year: U3

Matthew is a fourth year Bachelor of Commerce in the Honours in Investment Management program. Prior to joining McGill last year, Matthew studied at the University of Toronto for three years. This summer, Matthew is working in the Investment Banking division of Citigroup Global Markets in New York. In addition, he has previously worked at both Mercer and Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan in Toronto.

Manojkumar Bhojwani

Program: Finance Major Year: U2

Manoj is a fourth year Bachelor of Commerce student at McGill University, pursuing a Major in Accounting and Concentration in Finance. After graduating from McGill, Manoj plans on pursuing a career in investment banking. Manoj most recently spent this past summer working as an Auditor in the Mutual Funds industry for Ernst & Young.
Manoj is the current VP Operations of the Toronto Finance Convention for the McGill Investment Club, specifically helping in organizing the TOFC. Manoj hopes that this convention will enable members to enhance their recruiting season. Through his previous experience in organizing events, Manoj is confident that he will be able to help in making this year’s convention a success.

Michelle Lam

Program: Major in Accounting, Minor Marketing Year: U2

Michelle is a third year accounting major, with a concentration in marketing at McGill University. Upon graduation, she plans on pursuing a career as a CA. Michelle is hoping to gain some hands-on experience this summer at a Toronto branch of the Royal Bank of Canada. At McGill last year, Michelle had the opportunity to work with committees such as CASCO and the Desaultels Management Leadership Seminar. This is her first year being part of TOFC and she is excited to help promote this event.

Devon Howard

Program: major Finance, Minor Entrepreneuship Year: U3

Devon is a third year Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Entrepreneurship at McGill University. After graduating from McGill, he plans on perusing a career in Investment Banking or Asset Management. At McGIll, Devon has been involved with the McGill Investment Club for the past year. Currently, he is also a member of the McGill Varsity Rugby team and a member of the McGill Ski Club.
Devon is looking forward to working on the Promotions Committee for the Toronto Finance Convention 2010. As a member of the committee, he will be responsible for raising awareness and gaining sponsorship for this event, and will strive to make sure that it is better than ever before.

Shimone Slomowitz

Program: Honours in Investment Management Year: U3

Shimone Slomowitz is a third year Management student in the Honours in Investment Management program at McGill. For the past two years, Shimone has been on the McGill Varsity Soccer team as a Goalkeeper and has been selected to the Quebec all star team three times. This year, she has decided to leave soccer to focus more on school and developing her career in finance. In the past, she has worked as a coach and a receptionist for a medical clinic. Shimone has been a part of countless athletic, academic, and workforce teams throughout her life, as in high school she was a member of the soccer, volleyball, basketball, and snowboarding teams. She is also a member of McGill Right to Play and McGill Global Agents for change.
